Topology Lines

Topology lines are whats added by hand in photoshop to follow the features and creases and curves on your face, these lines will be used to make more detailed grid map shown in the image bellow.

Using quads of lines (squares not triangles) to fill and follow the features of the skin, cheek and jawbone etc.

Reference Plates

This images bellow shows the two photos of myself in adobe photoshop. Here I am starting to line them up perfectly acording to my features. As the two images with me used to wrap onto eachother, the features and where they join need to be very accurate to get a good result at the end.

I am using the lines on the gri to help line up my eyes, nose ears and chin.

The start

Firstly I started by getting my picture taken, one profile and one looking straight on. I then input these into photoshop and started to watch through the tutorials and start to minipulate my portrait images.

Programs I will be using

When looking through our tutorial guides its clear I will be using alot of the following programs, especialy photoshop. This is a new way of modelling to that I have learnt in the past 3ds Max projects. This module I use photoshop to create the structure mesh for the model, and then secondly use 3ds max to replicate this in 3 dimensions.

Virtual Enviroments

I am in the first lecture of this new module! I am being told about our brief and how we will be using 3Ds Max again to create some 3D work.

This short module is to create our own head in 3D, using real photos and modelling techniques. I am pleased with this challenge as im sure it will not be easy but I enjoy using 3ds max and have developed a small amouint of knowledege with it recently.

After looking through the guides for this module I can see that I will be learning some new skills in 3Ds max which is really good.

Pretty pleased with the challenge and im going to get started now!
